About the Event
Creative Justice, a King County nonprofit that works with youth impacted by the school-to-prison pipeline, is throwing a “celebration of youth-powered liberation” for Juneteenth. (Cue “Greatest Love of All” by Whitney Houston.) Gather with the community for storytelling that highlights “the creative brilliance and lived experiences of those most impacted by incarceration and systemic harm.” Freedom Day also features youth performances, free food, music, an appearance by the Double Dutch Divas, and a free mutual-aid store. by Janey Wong
Join us for Juneteenth Freedom Day — our annual celebration of Black joy, resistance, and community power. In a time when so much around us feels uncertain, we hold tight to what we know is true: we got us.
Come through on June 19th at Washington Hall from 5pm-9pm for an evening of art, music, food, and community!
