About the Event

In the midst of an impending election season, the ability to engage in constructive civic dialogue emerges as a cornerstone of our democratic process. As we navigate the diverse tapestry of opinions and perspectives that define our communities, it becomes imperative to bridge divides and uncover shared values, even amidst disagreements on solutions. But how do we embark on this journey of understanding? What does it truly mean to foster civil dialogue, and how can we proactively navigate the terrain of differing viewpoints?

Join us for a transformative evening at Civic Cocktail where, in our first segment, experts in communication and civil dialogue will delve deep into these questions, equipping you with the tools and insights necessary to engage in meaningful discourse across divides. Then, in our second segment, Jillian Youngblood, Executive Director of Civic Genius, will lead us through interactive activities designed to challenge assumptions and promote understanding in a light-hearted yet constructive manner.
