About the Event
ABOUT THE EVENT:
Join us to celebrate Black History Month and for an evening of advancing racial equity in King County. Come, listen, learn, and take action!
One of Dr. Martin Luther King’s greatest lessons was simply to listen. Can we intentionally build this practice of listening and empathizing in our workplaces, places of worship, within our families, and across our networks?
In the latest installment of our Advancing Racial Equity Event Series, we’ll discuss excerpts from one of Dr. King’s speeches, a treasure that was nearly forgotten before being discovered on acetate film in 2008. Together, we’ll discover how they resonate with today’s realities for all of us across King County. Our panelists include:
Colleen Echohawk – CEO, Eighth Generation
Jorge L. Barón – King County Council, District 4
